Tour Itinerary

Whether you travel from Schiphol, Amsterdam Central Station or somewhere else in The Netherlands, we will get you sorted! The trip itinerary here below departs from Amsterdam Central station. Journey schedules are pretty flexible as trains depart at least twice per hour. So don’t worry if you run a bit late or are an early bird, we’ll get you en route!
Day 1 – Leaving from Amsterdam CS at 9-ish. You will head to Delft. Delft was one of the great centers of the 17th‑century Dutch world — a city shaped by VOC trade, master painters, and the quiet power of its canals and guilds. Here, Vermeer created his luminous interiors while merchants and craftsmen connected Delft to Asia, bringing new ideas, materials, and influences into the city. In the afternoon, after check in and lunch, a guided walk leads you through Delft’s most iconic Golden Age locations, ensuring every essential highlight is experienced. You will stay in one of our great boutique hotels (8+ rating) in the center of Delft in walking distance of the station. We will provide you some great tips for lunch and dinner in the evening. Let us know if you need our help, we are happy to make sure you have a table in one of the great restaurants Delft has on offer!
Day 2 – Today begins with a late‑morning departure from Delft, arriving in Middelburg around midday for check‑in. Your hotel will be within a 10 minutes walk from the train station. Your electric bikes will be ready on arrival, setting the stage for an afternoon enjoying the wide horizons, historic towns and unique character of Zeeland. You can have lunch in Middelburg before heading out — or start cycling right away and enjoy lunch in the beautifully preserved town of Veere. From there, the route continues toward Vlissingen, where the story deepens. Once a key VOC port and departure point for ships bound for Asia, Vlissingen still carries the atmosphere of the 17th century in its quays, fortifications and long seaside boulevard. You’ll have time to explore before cycling back to Middelburg in the late afternoon.
Day 3 – This morning you’ll have time to explore Middelburg at an easy pace, taking in a few final highlights of this former VOC stronghold. The city’s grand abbey complex, quiet canals and historic warehouses still echo the prosperity of the 17th century. Around midday you board the train north toward Rotterdam. After check‑in, we’ll guide you to a great lunch venue. The afternoon is free to stroll the city. Behind its striking skyline lies a deep maritime past, including an important chapter of VOC history. Rotterdam was home to one of the six VOC chambers, responsible for outfitting ships, managing trade routes and shaping the Dutch Republic’s global reach. Remnants of this era can still be found around the Oude Haven, the Wijnhaven and the Maritime District, where old quays and warehouses meet bold contemporary architecture. Your arrival in Rotterdam marks a shift in energy: from Golden Age heritage to a city that constantly reinvents itself, yet never loses sight of its maritime roots.
Day 4 – After breakfast you leave your luggage safely at the hotel and step into the energy of Rotterdam for a deeper look at this remarkable city. We’ve arranged a guided bike tour that takes you through Rotterdam’s most iconic contrasts: bold modern architecture, historic harbors, creative districts and the places where the city’s maritime story began. Cycling across bridges, along the river and through lively neighborhoods, you’ll see how Rotterdam rebuilt itself with ambition while still carrying traces of its VOC past. Your guide brings the city to life with stories of shipyards, trade routes and the people who shaped Rotterdam’s character. It’s an easy, engaging way to experience the city — fast enough to cover ground, slow enough to take it all in. After the tour, the rest of the afternoon is yours to explore, relax by the water or enjoy one of Rotterdam’s many cafés before collecting your luggage. From here, you travel back to Amsterdam, Schiphol or continue your journey elsewhere. It has been our pleasure to guide you through these unforgettable days — and we hope you return home with stories worth sharing.
